Groove Padel

Club Manager, Groove Padel, Peterborough

Title – 3
£42,000 - £46,000

About the Role

Groove Padel is opening in November 2026 as one of the largest dedicated padel destinations in the region — but it’s not just courts. It’s a modern leisure club built around play, community and dwell: somewhere people come to play padel and stay for coffee, relax or work.

Club, Not Courts. That’s the whole idea, and Groove Padel needs a Club Manager who can bring it to life from day one — taking full operational and commercial responsibility for the centre, from pre-opening setup through to running the club day to day.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, community and commercial success of a flagship padel destination from the ground up — building the atmosphere, dwell and sense of belonging that turns first-time visitors into regulars.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Running the day-to-day operation of 12 padel courts, 3 pickleball courts, a licensed bar & café, co-working space and pro shop
  • Recruiting, training and leading a high-performing team across court operations, coaching, bar & café, and pro shop
  • Owning the P&L — budgets, revenue growth, membership targets and commercial opportunities such as corporate events, leagues, tournaments and coaching programmes
  • Championing the customer journey end to end, so every visit feels effortless, considered and unmistakably Groove
  • Building Groove’s presence in the local community and developing the marketing and events programme
  • Overseeing the coaching programme and player pathways for all ages and abilities

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years’ experience managing a sports, leisure or hospitality venue
  • A proven track record owning budgets and P&L, and leading teams across multiple departments
  • Experience in a customer-facing, membership-based environment
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the energy and organisation to run a fast-paced, multi-faceted site
  • An entrepreneurial, hands-on leader with a genuine passion for sport, community and hospitality
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, especially through pre-opening and launch

Padel, tennis or racket sports experience, a personal licence, and experience opening a new venue are all a bonus — but leadership and commercial track record matter most.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Membership growth & retention
  • Court utilisation levels
  • Coaching programme participation
  • Food & beverage revenue and margin
  • Customer satisfaction scores
  • Labour cost management
  • Staff engagement & retention
  • Overall club profitability

What’s In It For You

  • Competitive salary of £42,000–£46,000 (dependent on experience), plus a bonus opportunity tied to growth targets
  • Free/discounted court time and club membership
  • Staff discount across the bar, café and pro shop
  • Pension scheme and holiday allowance
  • Training and development budget, including support for coaching and industry qualifications
  • The chance to shape a flagship venue from day one, ahead of the November 2026 opening

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Peterborough, reporting directly to the Operations Director.
